“What if?”

On August 17^th I wrote about “Change”. One of the websites that I read ever so often had a good article on “Change”. The author, Doug Firebaugh, wrote that most people are afraid of change. He stated that most people are

-  chained to their past,
-  chained to how things are,
-  chained to fears,
-  chained to doubts,
-  chained to insecurities,
-  chained to other people’s opinions,
-  chained to other people’s patterns of life,
-  chained to other people’s beliefs.

We all have special skills and talents. The problem is most of us never discover what those are because we spend too much time just trying to get by. We start out our career in the hope of changing the world, yet we are afraid to change ourselves, to grow. So we settle for less.

To be the Master of Our Destiny, to be in charge of our lives, we must have a skill that is in high demand which allows us to choose who we work with or we must have our own business. For most of us owning a business is our best option. However, owning a business takes a lot of money, a lot of time or a lot of time and money.

Most people don’t have the money and most people are not willing to invest the time needed to make their business a success. So, what’s the solution? Well, there is no easy solution. However, if you truly want to Live With Passion – to Live Free, you must be in control of your time and you must be willing to step outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself.

Like everything in life it is hard to get started and once you get started, it is much easier to keep it going. So plan to take 4 to 6 months of solid effort doing the things that unsuccessful people are unwilling to do.
